Introduction

ADAM’s Resident Artist. Gold Medalist of Painting Competition in “The 8th International Abilympics (Seoul)”. He has studied with noted painters including Cen Xue Gong, Luo Ci Bing and Mou Kang Hua. In 1982, his work “Painting of the Three Gorges” was chosen to participate in the “National Handicapped Person” and “Art Exhibition for the International Handicapped Person” in Spain and Yugoslavia. In 1993, he won the 3rd prize in “Art Exhibition of Sichuan Province” as well as “Art Exhibition for the International Panda Festival in Chengdu”. In 2004,he won the 1st prize in “Art Exhibition of Artists in China and Korea” in Korea .
  
Born in Chengdu, China, Ko Nam moved to Hong Kong in 1994. He has held solo exhibitions in Hong Kong in 1995, 2000 and 2008. Since 2006, he has participated in various exhibitions, e.g. Henderson ArtReach Project, Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for the Celebration of PRC National Day and International Festival of Inclusive Arts. In 2003 and 2007, he represented Hong Kong to participate in the International Abilympics in India and Japan. From 2004, he participated in different exhibitions, including “China’s Top 100 Calligraphists”, “All Touch in Art” presented by Henderson Land Development Company Limited, “Four Places, One Heart Deaf Visual Arts Exhibition”, “Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for the Celebration of PRC National Day” and “The 1st International Festival of Inclusive Arts 2006”. In 2008-09, he also participated in the arts community project Dancing Sketch and painted on large paintings during the dance performances. In June 2010, Ko Nam was invited to hold a painting workshop and exhibit two of his artworks at the International VSA Festival in Washington D.C..
  
Experiencing hearing impairment due to illness at childhood, Ko Nam is skilled in painting landscapes and sceneries. His paintings are characterized as being free and easy, passionate and optimistic, creating his unique sound world from his silent life. His paintings are widely collected by collectors in the United States, Canada, England, Japan, Denmark and Taiwan, etc. In recent years, he has painted sceneries in Hong Kong including the Hong Kong National Geopark. The works are commissioned by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department for its publication.
