Citywalk Gallery is organising “Arts on Letters – Ronnie Wong x Frank Wong Exhibition” exhibition from 2 February to 20 February 2016. The exhibition features around 50 pieces of arts letter papers and envelopes from Ronnie Wong and Frank Wong, which are to explore the possibilities of letters in the world of arts.
Ronnie Wong holds a master’s degree in Design Practice (Illustration) at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle, the UK. He participated in numerous international large-scale arts exhibitions and events and his artwork had been selected for the Hong Kong Art Biennial. His artworks are characterised with a blending style of western and oriental drawing. He will showcase a series of ink paintings on letter papers, with cartoon animals symbolizing his family members in a way to reflect a sense of humor. Frank Wong is Green Leaf Artist of Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong. He lost his hearing due to childhood sickness, however, he has still developed a strong interest in arts. The exhibition features a series of artworks drawn on old envelopes with poster color, pencil, technical pen and fountain pen. The topics of his works are ranging from daily life to social culture.
It is the first joint exhibition of the two artists. They make their own declaration of arts through letter papers and envelopes, although they are of different ages and experience as well as artistic media and styles. To celebrate Chinese News Year, the two artists give their blessings by specially creating several festive-themed artworks for the exhibition.
