Introduction

Gao Yunwen (Koko), who developed strong interest in art under the influence of her elder brother during childhood, never ceases her passion for art despite the fact that she is spastic and cannot coordinate her hands from time to time. She started learning ceramics in 1999, and began to focus on painting since 2005. KoKo is good at delicately depicting the landscape, especially capturing the ever-changing colours of the sky and the water surfaces. She established her own gallery named “Feel” in 2007, introducing the idea that “painters should feel and reflect the meanings of the paintings, and so should the viewers”.

Koko hopes to use painting as a communication platform in the future to encourage people with disabilities to face challenges positively and live a fulfilling life.
