Ignition Scheme was a complete success!
“Ignition Scheme” came to a successful end in 2019. Although young disabled students have their limitations, they are eager to make a splash in the art world or dance like no tomorrow.
The Finale Showcase was successfully held at The Mills on 12 July. The event perfectly combined different artistic elements such as music, dance, painting, and ceramic. Over a hundred of esteemed guests gathered and celebrated students’ extraordinary talents. We were honored to invite the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr. Lau Kong Wah, J.P. to officiate the opening ceremony for the third time. The ceremony symbolized achievements made by the students from the four partner-schools over the past three years and their artworks. We express our sincere gratitude to our key partner, Lee Hysan Foundation, and sponsor, Jean CK Ho Family Foundation, for their outpouring of support on the project. We give our best wishes to all of the students in their future endeavors in arts! |
Body Schema - Yeung Siu-fong Solo Exhibition
Yeung Siu-fong's first solo exhibition “Body Schema” was successfully held from 10 July to 14 July. We wholeheartedly thank you all of our guests and friends for visiting the exhibition. Using the quote “without body, my art is meaningless” as the prelude, the exhibition centered on the concept of “body” and showcased a series of cross-media artworks. Using clothe as medium, Yeung combined ceramics, videos, and sound to present her interpretations of the body.
Yeung Siu-fong also performed her work “In Vain”- blowing up the balloons repeatedly. Without support from her arms and hands, Yeung could not tie the balloons. The balloons inflated and flew away, leaving her in a state of vain. This echoed artist, Song Dong’s notion, “doing something, doing nothing, wasting something and wasting nothing.” The success of the exhibition relied on the support from our partners, Lee Hysan Foundation and Hong Kong Arts Centre.
