Lo Yip-nang has been receiving job training in the New Life Building Sheltered Workshop since 2000. When he started learning soft clay in 2005, his instructor found that he had superb sensitivity to the combination of colours, lines and pattern arrangement and further explored dierent skills with him. Apart form winning in ‘Cross All Borders’ in 2012, Nang has also held two solo exhibitions. Titled ‘Let the Colours Speak’, his most recent exhibition highlighted the expression of his dierent moods through his art. In recent years, Nang tried embedding mini-pictures into his soft clay pattern and exploring on clay with dierent light transmittancy. Each of his clay pattern is uniquely designed and assembled onto various materials. The work is then baked at low temperature to harden for preservation. Every time he creates a pattern, Nang will keep a piece in a jar like a collection of precious candies.
