Arts accessibility on campus
When the pandemic is slightly at ease, and students gradually returned to campus, the Arts Accessibility team immediately set off to various universities, secondary and primary schools for the education programme. In mid-October, we organised art accessibility sharing sessions for students from the Translation Department of the Hong Kong Baptist University and St. Peter’s Primary School where arts accessibility elements such as, Audio Description and Tangible Representation were introduced. Through interactive games and dialogue with people with visual impairment, students experienced art through different senses, and understood the needs of people with different abilities in art appreciation and daily life.

When legacy and literacy meets
Choi Kwok-keung, a theatre lover with visual impairment, is one of the very few who has the endeavour to write up and is willing to share his writings with other audiences after seeing a show. We are honoured to have Mr. Anthony Chan, the Artistic Director of Hong Kong Repertory Theatre agreed to be Choi’s mentor. A training plan has been drawn up to empower Choi to fulfill his wish to learn critical-review writing, which includes one-to-one tutorial, attendance of run-throughs, play-readings and performances, reading assignments and exercise of critical-review writing etc. Choi has continuously challenged himself and worked tirelessly to refine his skills since the launch of this mentorship programme in September. The firm and unfailing support of Mr. Chan is also the driving force for Choi's aspirations.
