‘Cross All Borders 2020: Dare to Explore!’ available online soon
For the first time ever, ‘Cross All Borders’ presents a series of black box theatre performances virtually, to allow the audience to get a stagey fix online. Our stellar line up of artists with disabilities will bring the audience three performances that are diverse in style. Artists reconstruct the connection between their daily lives and artistic creation, hoping to break the rules of narration and present a unique narrative. ‘Dare to Explore’ online performances will premiere at 8pm on the 23 December at our website/YouTube Channel/Facebook. Let us escape from the unsettled world we live in, to a land of make-believe.

‘Beyond Sight’ Non-visual Photography
Is photography an art solely created by vision? Can people with visual impairment take pictures? At the close of 2020, the Arts Accessibility Scheme launched a new project – ‘Beyond Vision’ Non-visual Photography. Through workshops, publications and exhibitions, visually impaired participants will use the camera as a medium to discover places and faces of Hong Kong and tell their own stories. A group of volunteers have completed their training on audio description and are ready to explore photography with the visually impaired persons beyond sight.
The project is made possible by the JK & Ingrid Lee Foundation. |
Virtual tour of the Community in Arts – Inclusive Exhibition 2020 is now available !
In view of the recent development of the epidemic, we believe that many friends of the public have not been able to visit the Community in Arts – Inclusive Exhibition 2020 in person. This year, we have gone virtual to deliver the viewing experience straight to your home. The virtual tour invites viewers to visit the exhibition in a fresh, immersive way. Created using a 360° camera, it allows viewers to explore over a hundred pieces of artwork covering painting, photography, three-dimensional crafts, weaving, etc. Enjoy the exhibition from now on until 31 December 2020.

Let us welcome a new generation of Visual Arts Audio Describers
The month-long ‘Visual Arts Audio Description Workshop 2020’ successfully concluded on 28 November. Through classes, demonstrations and practicum, participants learned audio description techniques for Chinese and Western painting, photography and 3D artworks. We are honoured to have invited several consultants with visual impairment and renowned broadcaster, Mr Ngai Ping Long, as guest speakers. They gave valuable comments to the workshop participants on their audio description techniques, use of voice and articulation. We welcome this new generation of Audio Describers with open arms to join our professional Arts Accessibility services.
The project is funded by the JK & Ingrid Lee Foundation |
