A Bit More than Arts Festival • ‘-ing’
2020 had been a challenging year. The Jockey Club Inclusive Arts Studio team has adapted to the ‘new norm’ under the pandemic and offers different teaching modes, which allow persons with disabilities to stay connected with the arts. To reflect the impact that such situation may roll into the future, the celebrated ‘A Bit More than Arts Festival’ is titled with an open-ending theme ‘-ing’. It brings the audience a stimulating virtual art experience which includes exhibitions, guided tours, performances and art workshops. Join us at the virtual showcase to appreciate artworks created in these trying times and those fascinating accompanying backstories.

‘ArtWorks’ professional training is now underway!
‘ArtWorks’ which offers professional training by local trainers to artists with disabilities has kicked off last October. Four different courses are being provided in the first phase and cover foundation arts theories, arts marketing, arts administration and arts education. Participants reflected that the course had inspired them to re-examine the concept of ‘Disability Art’ and self-identity. Some of them even made breakthroughs in their professional skills, hoping to create more diverse art works and move from needing support to making art independently in the future.
A long line of course and public activities is waiting in the wings for 2021. Follow us and stay connected! *‘ArtWorks’ is supported by the Arts Development Fund for Persons with Disabilities from the Social Welfare Department. |
