‘Cross All Borders 2023: Here to Spark’ will be held in the form of performing arts, aiming to discover talented artists with disabilities, allowing them to put skills into practice and pass on the power of arts. Different from that of the past, 'Cross All Borders 2023' will not be held in the form of a showcase, yet, we hope to become a halfway station for artists. With a dream, artists can now breakthrough their limits and reach more possibilities. ‘Cross All Borders 2023’ wish to become the spot where artists with disabilities start to spark, at the same time encouraging all of them to take on an adventure on the path of arts.

 

Application Eligibility

• Individual (below 21 years old)

• Individual (21 years old or above)
• Group

*The age of 21 year-old participants is subjected to 20th February, 2023

 

Forms of Performance

Any forms of performance:

Music Instrument(s), Voice, Chinese Traditional Theatre, Dance, Drama, Mime, Puppet, Lion Dance, Multi-media, Kung Fu, Magic, Movements, etc.

 

Adjudication Panel

The adjudication panel will comprise local art professionals who will be in charge of the selection of shortlisted and award-winning artists.

• Teamwork (only applicable to Group participants)

• The Most Promising Performance Award

 

Important Dates

Part 1: Application
Application deadline: 20th February, 2023 (Monday), 6:30 pm (referring to the stamped postal date / date and time of email sent)

 

Part 2: First Screening
First Screening will be held in the form of online screening, applicants should hence hand in a video of their performance.
Results of first screening will be announced on our website, shortlisted applicants will also be notified individually.

 

Part 3: Final Screening
Final Screening will be held in the form of audition to select the awardees for this year.
Results of final screening will be announced on our website, awardees will also be notified individually.
Date: 8 April, 2023 

 

Part 4: Mentorship scheme
Awardees of ‘Cross All Borders 2023’ will be paired with artists in exchanging thoughts on arts, for broadening the uniqueness and variety in their art creation.

Date: May 2023 onwards

 

Part 5: Online Prize Presentation Ceremony and Artist Sharing
Online Prize Presentation Ceremony and Artist Sharing provides a platform for artists with disability to introduce their art piece and their creation process, encourages more interaction between artists.
Date: June 2023 onwards

Please submit your application on or before 20th February, 2023 (Tuesday).

Along with the completed application form, please attach your/ your group’s recorded performance in an email and send to cab2023.adahk@gmail.com . If the file size is too large for an email attachment, please upload your recording to online storage spaces like Dropbox, Google Drive, or YouTube, please also modify the privacy setting to 'public' or 'available for anyone with the link' and provide the link in the email.

Please print the completed application form and submit it along with a burned CD containing your/ your group’s recorded performance, and mail them to our main office or submit them in person. (Address: Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, 4/F, Causeway Bay Community Centre, 7 Fook Yum Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong) Please also specify ‘Cross All Borders 2023: Here To Spark’ on the envelop.

 

*The uploaded performance video title should include your/ your group’s name and name of the art piece. Moreover, the video length should be within 10 minutes and the suggested resolution should be 1090p or above. The suggested format of the video is mov or mp4.

 

**The Association will contact you/your group by email or phone as soon as possible after receiving your application, for confirming the receipt of your application.

 

Notes to participants

• The application forms and materials (CDs or recordings) submitted by the participants will not be returned. In case of incomplete information provided, ADAHK reserves the right to view one’s application as an invalid application.
• Participants are responsible for obtaining all copyright for your performance, including script, music and design related to the performance.
• One’s performance should not contain indecent language and pornographic elements. If there is any violation, ADAHK reserves the right to disqualify the particular individual/group participants.

• ADAHK supports and respects the freedom of creation. The content of the performances does not reflect the stance of ADAHK.
• Participants are required to agree to authorize ADAHK to display their performance to the public for any promotional purposes in forms of text, audio or video.
• Participants are required to agree to be photographed and videotaped for recording and publicity purposes of the event.
• ADAHK reserves the right to amend the rules and regulations, prizes and selection criteria without prior notice.
• ADA reserves the right of final decision in case of any disputes.
• ADAHK will comply with requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (“PDPO”) to ensure that personal data collected are accurate, securely kept and used only for the purpose for “Cross All Borders 2023: Here To Spark”.
• Participants understand and agree to abide to the above conditions by submitting the application form.
