Mr. Toby Brown, a solicitor with Kennedys Hong Kong, will be embarking on an incredible test of physical endurance – the Gobi Desert March (http://www.4deserts.com/gobimarch/). This march is a 250 km run through the Gobi Desert over 7 days from 14th June. Participants are required to carry their own food and water which adds an extra 25 to 30 lbs for each runner to carry. All this on a course that is expected to reach an altitude of 3000m (9800 ft) on the windiest desert in the world! Not only is Toby taking part in this march, he is also raising funds for the Arts with the Disabled Association (ADA) Hong Kong as part of this event. “While this race will test my tenacity for a few days, for many persons with disabilities everyday is a test of their tenacity. It is therefore great that ADA gives them the chance to enjoy the arts, which may provide them with a break from the daily challenges they face. I therefore wish to do my bit to support this cause,” says Toby. So far, HK$18,000 has been pledged. Please show your support for Toby in his endeavour and the ADA by sending a crossed cheque made out to “Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong” to the ADA at 4th Floor, Causeway Bay Community Centre, 7 Fook Yum Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Donations over HK$100 are tax-deductible with receipt issued by ADA. Please send the cheque with donor's full name, contact tel and correspondence address and mark “Toby Brown” at the back. Thank you for your support! |
