Introduction

“Ceramic is a touchable art form for me where I infuse my works with imagination. I trust my abilities and whatsoever that the materials tell me. I am an artist.”

- Fong Fong

Subsequent to illness, Fong Fong gradually lost her hearing and visual abilities. Images became vague and lines distorted, making it difficult for her to distinguish colours. She first came across the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (ADAHK) in 2010 in a “Barrier Free Community” event held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Fong Fong started learning arts in 2011 upon joining the “Training for Artists with Disabilities” programme held at the Jockey Club Inclusive Arts Studio by ADAHK under “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant - Inclusive Arts Project”. She has been enriching her artistic skills and capabilities in the last three years by participating in various workshops such as Ceramic Art Workshop, Paper Craft Workshop, Porcelain Art Workshop, Acrylic Painting Workshop, Glass Workshop, Ceramic Throwing Workshop, Pinhole Camera Workshop and Sand Painting Workshop.
