Introduction
Since 2011, Shine Dancing Group has been actively engaged in various dance performances, with better known pieces such as “Singing Concert”, “Golden Melody Jukebox” and “Robot Dance” performed in different major and public events. Their performances integrate elements of jazz, street dance and modern dance.
Many of their diverse works are noted for their boldness and originality using daily life experience, current affairs or imaginative stories as themes. In recent years, they have tried new attempts by crossing over traditional Chinese music and drumming with Western English pop rap and electronic music, bringing audience’s perception about dance to new frontiers. Their daring creations have gained encouraging recognition of judges in competitions, wining them over 12 awards in the last three years, which include The Most Outstanding Group Award in “Cross All Borders: Hong Kong Festival Showcasing New Performing Artists with Disabilities 2015”, twice open dance competition championship, and Group Merit and Choreography Award in the “Schools Dance Festival”.
