The 9 finalists are all ready and expecting eagerly for their turn in the spotlight. They will spark off the best in them and to grab the 5 grand awards. This year, we have invited emcees, TV actor, Anthony Ho and ADA artist, Kevin Cheng, to lead us to soak up the lively atmosphere of the show. Previous award winners of ‘Cross All Borders’ will be on stage again with new groups and performances to represent their wonderful moments. The show is about to begin! Cross All Borders! Gala Extraordinaire – Stage of Ability 2017
Organised by the Television Division of Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK), “Gala Extraordinaire – Stage of Ability 2017” came to a successful end at the night of 8th September at Queen Elizabeth Stadium. ADAHK’s Green Leaf Artists Michelle Siu, Anson Tang, Christine Lau and Angel Ya collaborated with various local and overseas artists with disabilities, which included: Pop singer Viktoria Modestafrom the U.K., Taiwanese dancer Lin Chinglan and her dance troupe, Japanese taiko troupe Kobiki, Korean street dance group Wing Crew, and Harpist Sophie GRAF from the States. They performed on stage together with local singers and bands, namely Alfred Hui, Justin Lo, RubberBand, Vincy Chan, Mag Lam and Det Dik. With a myriad of stage effects such as videos, dance, music, songs, sound effects and lighting, the show presented the changes and turmoil in the world and advocate introspection and rumination upon life, so as to bring people closer to each other. It also demonstrated the abilities of people with disabilities to the public in order to promote respect for differences and the ideal of equality for all.

"City Dress Up: Blossoming Stairs", a city-wide community art project leading by the Hong Kong Museum of Arts and supported by ADAHK, is slotted to have another two art carnivals in the winter. Both sessions will for sure filled with amusing and educational booth activities. In addition, a series of diversity tours guided by both docents from the Museum and Artists with Disabilities, allows participants to appreciate arts from the perspective of wheelchair users and visually impaired visitors as well as experience first-hand the daily obstacles people with disabilities encountered when manoeuvring our city.
