A Bit More Than Arts Festival - Integrate arts spirit and fun Explore possibilities yet to come

Year 2017 can be considered a very fruitful year of “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant: Inclusive Arts Project”. We learnt in-depth knowledge in arts, so did we make new attempts.

Adding onto our prior knowledge, this year we gained further understanding concerning Chinese Ink Painting, Ceramics, Block printing, Sculpture, Dance, and the Flash Ensemble. New elements were added into course content so as to widen the participants’ horizon in arts while making new attempts and explorations; whereas Snare Drum, Shadow Puppet and Singing will be the project’s new attempts. It is hoped that people with different interests could know more about Jockey Club Inclusive Arts Studio (JCIAS), so together they could take part and create.

For the first time, “Artlink” connected us with friends from Singapore. Under the theme of plants, we shared our imaginations and artworks by plants. Joining us in the programme were also friends from Texas, United States; their participation made the exchange of “Artlink” vivid and interesting. We especially invited two artists from Taiwan to share their extensive experience on A Cappella and Ceramics in Trainer’s Training workshops. These sharing inspired the participants.

We hoped to share with you every piece of project that we have completed last year in “A Bit More Than Arts Festival 2017”. Through exhibitions, performance showcase, guided tours and workshops, and arts sharing and exploration workshops, we wish everyone could take on the tour of arts and fun, and joint hands with our artists to explore all possibilities in arts.
