We have invited six artists with different disabilities from Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan to break the boundaries of language and to create dialogues by exchanging and circulating artworks. They have created artworks based on two themes, "City Landscape", as well as "Characters and Story". With diverse backgrounds and cultures, they made use of their paint brushes to draw their feelings towards life and re-imagine their cities. Art Loops! has embarked an incredible yearlong journey and the artworks have circulated between Hong Kong, Japan, and Taiwan. The exhibition will be held in November to showcase a series of artworks circulated by the artists. Let’s come and discover the exciting stories of each loop!

Art Loops! Studio @ Freespace Happening
On the eve of the opening of Art Loops! Exhibition, we are proud to bring you the Art Loops! Studio at November’s Freespace Happening. Come and embark a journey of art circulation with us!
Participants are welcomed to unleash their imagination and create artwork on the cards provided. On top of that, two artists from the project, Fung Hoi Wai and Wong Yun Chuen will drop by Freespace Happening and interact with everyone around. Hoi Wai will sketch portrait quickly on the spot and capture unique facial characteristics with simple lines. A gifted painter, Yun Chuen will draw sketches based on his observation and discoveries on the day by using ink. His artwork will then be displayed at the booth upon completion. We do hope their work can inject positive energy into everyone and bring you a little happiness for the day. There are also lots of other great activities around the park, including Taiwanese music, Malaysian dance, a handicrafts market, literature-themed activities, different interactive art activities. ADAHK’s self-produced drama “The Path Together” will hit the stage again in January 2019. Three renowned artists with disabilities act alongside professional actors, and it conveys a powerful message of the uniqueness of inclusive art. This is a first of its kind drama which integrates arts accessibility elements such as theatrical interpretation into the show. Sign interpreters are an integral part of the show, sharing the stage with rest of the cast. Funds raised will support the artistic development of people with disability, the betterment of arts accessibility, and ADAHK’s operation.

2019 Trainers’ Training Master Class ‘Representing Disability: Strategies for Arts Practitioners’
What perspective should we use to present artworks on disability, from charity, social education, aesthetics or social movement?
We have invited an overseas facilitator, Ms. Sandie Yi, to conduct a trainers’ training workshop and community seminar under the theme of "Representing Disability: Strategies for Arts Practitioners." The instructor will adopt a multi and diversified dialogue approach, together with art creation and appreciation, practical case sharing, group discussions, and exercises, leading the participants to think and reflect on disability issues. What’s more, Ms. Yi will inspire the participants with ideas and methods so that they can practise them in work or daily life. It is now open for application! All interested are welcome! "Cross All Borders: Hong Kong Festival Showcasing New Visual Artists with Disabilities 2018" had concluded with great success. Thank you again for the enthusiastic support. For those who have missed the exhibition, please don’t be disappointed. 15 selected artworks from the "Cross All Borders 2018" will meet the public again at the lobby of the China Construction Bank Tower in December. Those artworks awarded with gold, silver and bronze prizes, as well as the selected artworks by the grantees of "Cross All Borders - Sustainable Development Fund for Artists 2016" will be exhibited in this exhibition. “Steadfastly: Ko Nam’s Solo Art Exhibition” will extend to 31 December
"Steadfastly: Ko Nam’s Solo Art Exhibition” is currently held in ADAM Art Space, the multifunctional art platform. It is a solo art exhibition of our Resident Artist, Ko Nam. Recently we received different individuals and groups for tours. (Photo: One group of visitors participated in an artwork workshop after the tour of the exhibition.) To let more visitors have the opportunity to appreciate Ko Nam’s unique style of painting in Chinese ink painting and oil painting, the exhibition is now extended to 31 December. 【2018 Disability Culture and Art Vision Forum and A+ Festival in Seoul, Korea】
In September, ADAHK was invited to attend the 2018 Disability Culture and Art Vision Forum organized by the Federation of Disability Culture & Arts Associations of Korea. This year’s topic was "Disability Culture and Arts, Taking One Step Further." ADAHK representative gave a presentation on the topic of "The Development of Disability Art in Hong Kong: Focusing on Activities of Disabled Artists," and shared the challenges faced, progress made, and opportunity encountered by ADAHK throughout the years. Our representatives also had fruitful discussions with artists, representatives of art institutions, scholars and participants from Korea, Japan, Switzerland, and Egypt. The A+ Festival, which is an annual and renowned festival in Korea showcasing performances and artworks by artists with disabilities, was also held from 6 to 8 September. ADAHK attended the opening events and ceremony, and Ko Nam, our Resident Artist, also exchanged ideas with Korean painters and staff from different art institutions during the event and was invited to demonstrate ink drawing on the venue. The response was positive.
