Simple Block Printing @ Freespace Happening
New Year, new initiative! Let’s kick-start a fabulous New Year and test your crafting skills at ADAHK workshop! Jockey Club Inclusive Arts Studio (JCIAS) will bring you a Simple Block Printing workshop at the Freespace Happening. By using your creativity and simple block-printing tools, you can design a one-of-a-kind collage and experience printmaking.
There are also lots of other great activities around the park. You can enjoy indigenous, classical and contemporary sounds with urban elements. A dance troop from Japan will offer an offbeat take on the traditional Japanese folk dance bon-odori that is sure to keep you dancing. Bring along your dear one and welcome the New Year with live music, dance, fun workshops and more at the Freespace Happening! A Bit More than Arts Festival – Burst . Imagination
The annual “A Bit More than Arts Festival” is going to unveil! The Festival will be held from 1 February to 5 March, with the theme “Burst . Imagination”. Besides exhibitions and performance showcases, you can join different types of FREE workshop so that everyone can experience the joy of art.

Consultation of Tai Po Civil Centre Enhancement Work
Our representative attended the “Consultation of Tai Po Centre Enhancement Work” organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department on 7 December 2018. We reflected our concern regarding different facilities in accommodating persons with different abilities, such as the number of wheelchair seats, the size of accessible lift, facilities in accessible dressing room like the size of toilets and the location of the shower room.

Artists with Disabilities will perform and emcee in the “2018 Recognition Ceremony for Carers of Persons with Disabilities” organised by Social Welfare Department
Organized by the Social Welfare Department, the “2019 Recognition Ceremony for Carers of Persons with Disabilities cum the Expo for Social Enterprises by Rehabilitation Agencies” will be held on 20 January. Our registered artists, “Fun Forest” and “P&O”, will perform hip hop dance and wheelchair dance respectively in the Ceremony. Besides, Olivia, one of the members of “P&O” will be the emcee. The Ceremony will make recognition and appreciation to a group of carers for their hard work in looking after people with disabilities. A number of booths will be featured, involving different social enterprises to introduce the products or services created and provided by people with disabilities in order to enhance the employment opportunities of the disabled and promote social inclusion.

Artworks created by artists with disabilities are popular in business gifts and premium
ADAM actively promotes the concept of making incredible business gifts and premiums by displaying artworks created by artists with disabilities. Recently, ADAM successfully collaborated with the China Construction Bank (Asia), RLB and Lai Sun Group in launching their 2019 calendars, octopus card packets, red packets, etc. Up to 15 artists are selected for their outstanding artworks, including: Ko Nam, Liu Tung Mui, Chan Tung Mui, Chan Wing Kei Isabella, Chow Chiu Ming, Koko, Teresa Ho, Vincy Leung, Li Siu Yin, Lee Sai Ho, Tam Ka Yee, Tam Man Ling, Wong Chi Wah Agnes, Wong Yuen Chuen, and Sandra Wong.

Ignition Scheme offered a series of fun activities in December to showcase students’ exceptional talent
Created by the students from the Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre (JFK), 22 paintings are now on display at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC)’s Blue Wall at L3 and L4. The exhibition is named “Twenty-two Natures” and will come to a close on 14 January. Students from the JFK also visited the exhibition on 22 Dec and participated in the fun-packed painting and outdoor sketching workshop.
Invited by the City Contemporary Dance Company, students from the Street Dance class of the Rotary Club of HK Island West Hong Chi Morninghope School have performed at the “Good Show 2018” Dance Showcase organized by the Dance Centre in the Shatin Town Hall on 15 December. The students left the audience in awe with their passion and skills. It was also a great opportunity to promote inclusion via art with the audience. |
