‘Exchange Ability’ - Art Technology Training Scheme for AWDs
Artists are revolutionising the way people interact with the arts in the new normal era by utilising cutting-edge technology; likewise, it is becoming a significant trend for Hong Kong’s cultural development. ‘Exchange Ability’ aims to equip artists with disabilities with the techniques required in the new normal era, including exhibiting artworks online.
A series of two free talks will be organised in October and November, followed by training workshops later on for hands-on skills. Professional media artists and art educators will share the latest trend and applications of the art technology, video production, and different possibilities of organising online art events and sharing. Our artists with disabilities will also lead a series of free art programmes, including art workshops, concerts to name a few, in the HSBC Hong Kong Community Festival held in November. The programme portrays Anson’s creative adventure and discovery in his journey of music abroad. Between each piece Anson will speak about how each work has influenced his education and experience. ‘Life Enrichment Programme for Elderly with Disabilities’ is in full swing
The ‘Life Enrichment Programme for Elderly with Disabilities’ implemented by our Arts Accessibility team is in full swing. The team has recently visited different elderly centres across Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories to organise percussion workshops. To train the elderly’s concentration and under the guidance of the music therapist, participants used different instruments to perform an ensemble. After twelve sessions, participants showed their learning outcomes to their family members and other elderly participants through a sharing session.
In addition to the workshop mentioned above, through the ‘Home Delivery Arts Service,’ our team of staff together with art facilitators, visited the homes of elders with disabilities and limited physical mobility to help them stay engaged and creative with art. |
