The new release is all-inclusive documentation of Tung Tung’s creative journey. She started painting at an early age and has developed a strong personality and character. This definitive collection is divided into eight chapters, documenting her growth, daily life, family and creative path, as well as nearly a hundred unpublished compelling paintings in recent years.

‘ArtWorks’ ▎Performing Arts Creative Course: Leaving Evidence (Distance Learning)
‘Artworks’ Professional Training by Overseas Trainers invites experienced performing arts trainer Caroline Bowditch from Australia to lead participants to explore evidence and reflect on their own personal legacy – physical, factual and imagined. Participants also will be invited to respond in a variety of artforms, including text, movement, music, mark making and others, to a series of creative offerings and stimuli. The training is conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation in Cantonese.

‘The Visual Made Verbal’ by Dr Joel Snyder, the Chinese Edition is now available
The Visual Made Verbal: A Comprehensive Training Manual and Guide to the History and Applications of Audio Description by Dr Joel Snyder, one of the world’s pioneers of audio description, is now available in Chinese. Published by Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Society for the Blind, this edition explores audio description and its development with the Chinese-speaking world, especially its audio describers who bring the visual world to life for people with visual impairment. The book consists of eight chapters, documenting the techniques, practices, lists of resources and Snyder’s personal experience about audio description as well as discussing its application in visual arts, performing arts, films, television shows and etc. The original was highly recommended by advocates and industry leaders including Dr William Rowland, Former President of World Blind Union, Kim Charlson, President of American Council of the Blind: Quality Access to Culture, Sonali Rai, Broadcast and Audio Description Manager of RNIB, Kelsey Marshall, the Former Director of Accessibility at the John F. Kennedy Center.

Congratulations to Yang Enhua for winning the ‘VSA International Young Soloists Award’
Erhu player Yang Enhua, ADAHK artist and the recipient of the ‘Lee Hysan Foundation Individual Scholarship’ and the ‘Artists with Disability Development Fund’ is awarded the ‘VSA International Young Soloists Award.’ Each year outstanding young musicians with disabilities from around the world are selected to receive the ‘VSA International Young Soloists Award,’ including an opportunity to participate in professional development and performance opportunities provided by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

‘A Bit More than Arts Festival 2022’ came to a successful end. The Jockey Club Inclusive Arts Studio (JCIAS) is deeply grateful for your tremendous support. The annual festival, titled ‘Dear Journal,’ connected and enlightened the community through a series of online events, including exhibition, performances, guided tours, workshops and sharing sessions. Though the annual festival ends here, the artistic journey of our artists carries on. JCIAS, always serving as the platform that cultivates arts and creativity, looks forward to our next encounter in another annual festival!
