Registration open for ‘A Taste of ’ Arts Accessibility series and ‘Scent Technology’ workshop!
Arts Accessibility skills are applied in arts and cultural activities to facilitate people with different abilities to have equal access to the arts. A series of workshops is organised for those who are curious to explore more about Arts Accessibility. The workshops will be held on 23, 24 and 31 July 2022, right before and after the Arts Accessibility International Symposium.

The popular ‘Have Fun with Arts’ is returning with exciting art workshops this summer!
Pastel Nagomi Art Workshop The word ‘Nagomi’ means harmony and calmness. Participants will be able to in touch with their artistic self by using soft pastels, fingers, and simple tools to create heart-warming works. Unusual Musical Instruments Workshop Here is a wonderful chance to get your fingers on a series of unusual musical instruments from around the world. Some you may have heard of, and some probably not. Either way, we promise that they are worth checking out. All activities are free of charge. Quota is limited and will be allocated by balloting. Priority will be given to people with disabilities. ‘The Nippon Foundation DIVERSITY IN THE ARTS The 5th International Art Exhibition’ is now open for entries
The annual ‘Nippon Foundation DIVERSITY IN THE ARTS International Art Exhibition’ is now open for entries! We are cordially inviting artists to apply. Shortlisted artworks could be selected as ‘Award-Winning Works’ (6), ‘Overseas Works Award’ (1), ‘Winning Works’ (43) or ‘Honorable Mentions’ (50); and exhibited in Japan. The Awardees of ‘Award-Winning Works’ and ‘Overseas Works Award’ will be invited to attend the awards ceremony held in Japan. For those interested, please complete the application form and send it back to us on or before 17 June 2022.

‘ArtWorks’ ▎ Performing Arts Creative Course: Leaving Evidence (Distance Learning)
‘Artworks’ Professional Training by Overseas Trainers features experienced performing arts trainer Caroline Bowditch from Australia to lead participants to explore evidence and reflect on their own personal legacy – physical, factual and imagined. Participants will also be invited to respond in a variety of art forms, including text, movement, music, mark making and others, to a series of creative offerings and stimuli. The training is conducted in English with simultaneous interpretation in Cantonese.

‘The Visual Made Verbal’ by Dr Joel Snyder, the Chinese Edition is now available
The Visual Made Verbal: A Comprehensive Training Manual and Guide to the History and Applications of Audio Description by Dr Joel Snyder, one of the world’s pioneers of audio description, is now available in Chinese. Published by Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Society for the Blind, this edition explores audio description and its development with the Chinese-speaking world, especially its audio describers who bring the visual world to life for people with visual impairment. The book consists of eight chapters, documenting the techniques, practices, lists of resources and Snyder’s personal experience about audio description as well as discussing its application in visual arts, performing arts, films, television shows and etc. The original was highly recommended by advocates and industry leaders including Dr William Rowland, Former President of World Blind Union, Kim Charlson, President of American Council of the Blind: Quality Access to Culture, Sonali Rai, Broadcast and Audio Description Manager of RNIB, Kelsey Marshall, the Former Director of Accessibility at the John F. Kennedy Center.
