‘Cross All Borders: Hong Kong Festival Showcasing New Visual Artists with Disabilities 2022’
This year, ‘Cross All Borders’ with the theme of ‘Be Me!’, returns in the form of a visual art competition. Making use of different media, artists break free of conventional thinking and comfortably explore their potential to achieve new possibilities previously thought unattainable, thus, hoping to add colours to the world of arts.
In this iteration of ‘Cross All Borders’, 259 pieces of artwork covering a wide range of subjects are received in which 40 pieces of winning artworks shortlisted by the Adjudication Panel will be showcased at the exhibition. On top of having an Art Experience Corner, which allows the visitors to participate in art activities, guided tours are also available for public. ADAHK’s artists will take the role of docents and provide you with a unique and inspiring experience through introducing works and concepts behind each piece of unique artwork. Exhibition Date & Time: 19-29 August 2022 (10 am to 8 pm) 30 August 2022 (10 am to 1 pm) Venue: L1 Gallery, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC) (Free of charge) Please click here for more details |
The 3rd Iteration of the 'Beyond Sight' Non-visual Photography Exhibition
‘Beyond Sight’ is a three-year accessible art project of the ADAHK. With its fruitful results from the first two years’ workshops, the project continues to provide non-visual photography workshops to people with visual impairment. Through its one-of-a-kind photography workshops, the project prompts people with visual impairment to break away from the traditional notion that photography is a visually-led creation and create photographic works with sensory perceptions beyond visual sight. This exhibition showcases the works produced by seven people with visual impairment during the workshops. Each participant explored different corners of Hong Kong with their camera and presented the subjects, moments, and features that interested them through photography, revealing their inner feelings through unique methods and angles.
