‘Shine On’ Fundraising Gala 2023
ADAHK’s Fundraising Gala 2023 is scheduled for January 2023. Being heavily affected by the pandemic, the bi-annual Gala was suspended in 2020. As the pandemic is at ease, ADAHK is beginning to organise the Fundraising Gala to showcase a series of spectacular performances by our artists with disabilities. It is also a perfect opportunity to showcase exciting and inspiring crossover art performances among professional artists, supporters and artists with disabilities, demonstrating the beauty of inclusion.
We do not receive government subvention. Our operation relies on generous donations from individuals, corporations and foundations alike. Net proceeds raised at the ‘Shine On’ Fundraising Gala 2023 will be donated to ADAHK to discover more young talented artists with disabilities, support the professional development of artists with disabilities, and build an inclusive society through art.

ADAHK collaborates with Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to bring Arts Accessibility to the audience
For the very first time, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, in collaboration with ADAHK, introduced Sign Language and body movements at the Hong Kong Disneyland Halloween musical ‘Let's Get Wicked’, so that people with different abilities, especially the Deaf/people with hearing impairment can experience and enjoy the musical. Scripts were translated to sign language and taught by instructor Suzanne Chan Yuet-ying from ADAHK. At the height of the pandemic, Suzanne conducted remote teaching and made videos so performers could spend time practising to perfect the details at home. When the pandemic was at ease, Suzanne travelled all the way to the Hong Kong Disneyland for face-to-face teaching, helping the performers blend the informative Sign Language, dance moves and body movements seamlessly, turning them into art.

This year, ‘Cross All Borders’ with the theme of ‘Be Me!’ returns as a visual art competition. The exhibition held at L1 Gallery, Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, ended successfully. A virtual exhibition is made available by using the 360-degree panoramic camera, allowing visitors to revisit and ‘wander’ through the exhibition area virtually as well as enjoy a series of fantastic artworks up close.
