‘Green.Art’ HSBC Hong Kong Community Festival: ‘Recycling Shop’ Black Box Production and Post-performance Talk

Inside the recycling shop,
He, reducing waste, yet deepening self-doubt;
She, losing her job, yet gaining the determination to chase her dreams;
He, wishing to possess an old belonging, yet authorizing the present to go by;
She, he, you, or me ----
Between purchasing and consuming, keeping and letting go,
There lingers the story of one's lifting and putting down, along with gaining and losing.

JCIAS ▎Art workshops open for enrollment
The Jockey Club Inclusive Art Studio will offer two new art workshops in December:
Workshop 1: The Integrated Sensory Art Creation Workshop The integrated sensory art creation workshop introduces a conceptual ‘sound’ that is felt and created through touch, vision, hearing, imagination, painting and rhythm. The workshop will encourage participants to engage in different interactive imaging exercises and transform their experience or sensory ‘collections’ into different works of art. Workshop 2: The Weaving Workshop ‘God’s eye’ is a traditional craft and a cultural symbol from South America made by weaving a design out of yarn upon a wooden cross. In this weaving workshop, the art facilitator will make use of different bright, vibrant, colourful threads and yarn to introduce various weaving techniques and help the participants complete their artwork step-by-step. All the individual pieces will then be connected into a larger-scale weaving piece. |

‘Shine On’ Fundraising Gala 2023
ADAHK’s Fundraising Gala 2023 is scheduled for January 2023. Being heavily affected by the pandemic, the bi-annual Gala was suspended in 2020. As the pandemic slows down, ADAHK is beginning to organise the bi-annual Fundraising Gala to showcase spectacular performances by our artists with disabilities. It is also a perfect opportunity to showcase exciting and inspiring crossover art performances among professional artists, supporters and artists with disabilities, demonstrating the beauty of inclusion.
We do not receive government subvention. Our operation relies on generous donations from individuals, corporations and foundations alike. Net proceeds raised at the Gala 2023 will be donated to ADAHK to discover more young talented artists with disabilities, support the professional development of artists with disabilities, and build an inclusive society through art.
