ADAHK’s artist with disability, Apple Tong awarded the Grand Prix at the Japan’s Paralym Art World Cup 2022
ADAHK’s artist with disability, Apple Tong won the celebrated Grand Prix at the Japan’s Paralym Art World Cup 2022. Organised by the Organisation for Independence of Persons with Disabilities (一般社団法人障がい者自立推進機構) based in Japan, the Paralym Art World Cup is a worldwide competition for people with disabilities to express their artistic talents. This year, the theme is ‘FUTURE’, and the organiser received 498 entries from 25 countries around the world. Apple’s artwork is the most outstanding submission amongst all entries. Other winning submissions included artists from Japan, Australia, India and Indonesia. On 8 December 2022, the Acting Principal Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative (Tokyo), Miss Winsome Au, received the award on behalf of Apple at the award ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan.
Looking forward to the New Year, we believe that the winning artwork created by Apple can encourage everyone to reach for the stars and do the impossible, ‘A new seed is planted in a bird’s nest-like head. In this life, one is bound to encounter unpredictable things. Rethinking from scratch, taking risks and taking action are all personal choices. Face the complexity of life without fear.’
