【‘Recycling Shop’ Now Reopens】E-news May 2023 |
Watch ‘Green.Art’ HSBC Hong Kong Community Festival: ‘Recycling Shop’ Black Box Production Online for Free
The original play ‘Recycling Shop’, starring professional actors and artists with disabilities, explores the relationship between environmental protection and day-to-day life from the perspective of people with disabilities. The play endeavours to promote green living and raise public awareness towards environmental protection. The production is now available online for free.
Inside the recycling shop,
He, reducing waste, yet deepening self-doubt;
She, losing her job, yet gaining the determination to chase her dreams;
He, wishing to possess an old belonging, yet authorising the present to go by;
She, he, you, or me ----
Between purchasing and consuming, keeping and letting go,
There lingers the story of one’s lifting and putting down, along with gaining and losing.

StellaLou’s Wonderful Wishes Ballet ▎Relaxed Performance
ADAHK provided consultation for the three specially arranged Relaxed Performances of StellaLou’s Wonderful Wishes Ballet, co-presented by Hong Kong Ballet and Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Certain production elements such as lighting, sound, visual effects and the presentation were adjusted to soften the sensory experience and tailor it for audiences with autism spectrum, sensory sensitivity and learning difficulty. The inclusive version of the show attracted over 2,000 kids with special educational needs and their families to enjoy the magical moments in a more relaxed and comfortable environment.
ADAHK set up an all-rounded Arts Accessibility service centre in 2011. We aim to provide Arts Accessibility services and consultation to different art and cultural organisations / venues so that the local art scene can reach a more diverse audience, including the elderly, children and persons with disabilities, etc. |
