Audio Description Training Workshops Came to a Successful End
The Audio Description Training Workshop series ended on a high note with the completion of the Audio Description for Dance module. Mr Willie Elliott from the UK, who possesses over 20 years of experience, started the final chapter by sharing his techniques and experiences in describing dance. In the first practicum, choreographer Yao Wei invited two dancers to perform a dance piece while she deconstructed the piece with the trainers and participants. Ms Suie Lo continued to polish the participants’ skills by applying Audio Descriptions in local dance productions and mentoring them to provide live Audio Descriptions. We are thrilled to see a new generation of Audio Describers making dance production more accessible to theatregoers with visual impairment. We would like to thank the Hong Kong Dance Company for supporting the training and development of Audio Description in Hong Kong.
