Accessible Guided Tours for the New Heritage Exhibitions at Tai Kwun
Entering the New Year, ADAHK will provide Accessible Guided Tours for Tai Kwun, including the new permanent Heritage Exhibitions on Victoria Prison’s B Hall and D Hall. Asking questions, such as — ‘What is Prison Life Like?’ ‘What Hurts? What Heals?’ — the new exhibitions are based on newly uncovered research that deepens our understanding of the site’s complex histories, the real people, and their experiences within the prison walls.
The interpretation highlights the historic prison as a transformed heritage site for reconciliation and peacemaking, transcending the wall of separation and connecting all people, including the vulnerable and the marginalised. The content of the Accessible Guided Tours is customised based on the specific needs of different groups, including barrier-free routes. Sign Interpretation, Audio Description, and Tangible Representation are available for groups with different needs and learning styles.
