‘Cross All Borders: Hong Kong Competition of Showcasing New Visual Artists with Disabilities 2024’ Thank You All for Your Participation!
This year’s ‘Cross All Borders: Hong Kong Competition of Showcasing New Visual Artists with Disabilities 2024’ received a total of 300 entries. After two rounds of screening by the adjudication committee, 29 awarded artworks were selected and will be included in the electronic catalogue. In addition, the 9 grand awarded artworks will be displayed at the ‘Tour around Hong Kong Charity Walk 2024’ exhibition to be held on 24 March at the Level 1 Atrium of the Peak Galleria. ‘Tour around Hong Kong Charity Walk 2024’
This year marks the triumphant launch of ADAHK’s flagship fundraising event, ‘Tour around Hong Kong Charity Walk 2024’ at the Peak on 24 March 2024. Enrol and follow the footsteps of artists with disabilities and discover different hidden gems and check-in points along the Harlech Road and Lugard Road Circular Walk! The hidden path offers participants a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour. Seize the moment to enjoy the beauty of Hong Kong through the paintbrushes and lenses of our artists with disabilities, and collect stamps along the way!
The Charity Walk seamlessly blends a delightful day out with exhibition and art booths featuring artists with disabilities, held at the Level 1 Atrium of the Peak Galleria, while performances will be showcased at the Officiating Ceremony, held at the Peak Road Garden.
ADAHK does not receive any regular government subvention. Our operation relies on donations from individuals, corporations and foundations alike. Every penny raised contributes to support people with disabilities to participate in the arts and their professional development.

Artist-in-Residence: ADAHK’s Artists with Disabilities Now Stationed in the Local Cultural Venue
ADAHK strives to showcase the extraordinary talents of our artists with disabilities and encourage the public to participate in art appreciation by cooperating with different organisations and individuals to organise various art activities. ADAHK recommended and referred several artists with disabilities to participate in the ‘I’m perfect in my imperfection’ Artist-in-Residence programme held at the local cultural venue ‘VESSEL.’
The programme continues from September 2023 to August 2024 and is divided into three stages, including:
The final phase of the bi-monthly outdoor exhibition cum guided tour and workshop will commence this month. 【JCIAS】It’s Samba Time! Now Recruiting Passionate Percussionists
JCIAS’s upcoming percussion workshop in April will surely give participants an unforgettable and inclusive group drumming experience. Participants will go hands-on with different percussion instruments and work together to make exciting samba music and rhythms. The workshop is currently recruiting percussionists. Come and explore the eclectic rhythm of the Rio Carnival music.

Origami is an art that requires folding techniques and an understanding of papers. It might seem easy and always leave an impression that it is only for decoration. However, not so in this workshop! Accessible Tour and Workshop•Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination
ADAHK will provide Accessible Tours and Tangible Representation services for the ‘Science Fiction’ exhibition, organised by the Hong Kong Science Museum. The exhibition places participants at the heart of an interactive science fiction story, exploring a series of exhibits related to films, literature and artworks where they can experience unlimited human imagination and creativity.
The exhibition is comprised of six zones, namely ‘Shuttle and Cargo Bay,’ ‘Exploration Deck,’ ‘Bio Lab,’ ‘Planet Mission,’ ‘Visualisation Deck’ and ‘Observation Deck.’ Each zone explores significant themes within science fiction, including space exploration, cyborgs, and future habitats. The exhibition inspires visitors to reflect on the societal implications of advancing technology, prompting them to consider the opportunities and challenges of today and tomorrow through science fiction. ADAHK’s Artist with Disability Joined ‘The HK Phil Fundraising Concert 2024 - Play With The Phil’
Thanks to the sponsorship of The Swire Group Charitable Trust, ADAHK’s artist with disability Ding Yijie was honoured to be invited by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) to participate in the remarkable and moving fundraising concert. The concert was held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 4 February, concluding successfully. During the concert, Yijie performed alongside the professional musicians of the HK Phil and delivered a breath-taking violin performance, showcasing the transformative power of music beyond barriers.
