‘Ignition Scheme 3.0’ Final Showcase
‘Ignition Scheme 3.0’ provided an in-depth and advanced art training to students and graduates of four special schools, hoping to instil positive values in their lives and guide them to plan a career in the arts. Since 2016, students have left their footprints in different artistic endeavours through different phases.
The theme of the final showcase, ‘Symbols,’ is a manifestation to the students’ diverse personalities and visions. The exhibition, rich in patterns and textures, showcases their unique artistic expressions. The performance, incorporating symbols such as musical notes and dance, unites their emotions and thoughts. This final showcase is a pivotal moment, as it provides students with a professional platform to showcase their talents to the public, demonstrating their evolution towards professionalism and artistic exploration.

‘Disney Dream Makers Youth Development Program: Empowering Young Talents with Disabilities’ Funded Projects Officially Launched
The birth of Dream Makers!
Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of all parties, the first scholarship scheme jointly collaborated by Hong Kong Disneyland and ADAHK, specially designed for budding artists with disabilities under 19, has completed all selection procedures, and the funded projects will be launched this month.
Following rigorous selection and consultation sessions, seven young dream makers have been awarded. These talented individuals will receive development funds to pursue various art courses or self-planned art development initiatives. The funded projects, spanning music, painting, electronic painting and animation, and web game design, will last one year. With ADAHK's support, these Dream Makers will be able to fully unleash their artistic talents.

【Hong Kong Museum of History: ‘The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: The Ancient Civilisation of the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties in Henan Province’ - Inclusive Life: Museum for All】
Hong Kong Museum of History, in collaboration with the Chinese Culture Promotion Office, launched the first large-scale exhibition of the General History of China Series ‘The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: The Ancient Civilisation of the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties in Henan Province’ exhibition. The exhibition showcases over 150 sets of exhibits, including large and complete sets of bronze ware, jade ware, pottery, bone ware and oracle bones, from the collections of the Henan Museum as well as a dozen other museums and cultural institutions in the province, allows members of the public to learn more about the ancient civilisation and history of China.
Sign Interpretation Guided Tours and Audio Description Guided Tours with model-touching workshops are provided for the exhibition. Participants will have a chance to receive a special edition tactile postcard created for the exhibition. Postcards are limited and only available while stocks last. 【Jockey Club Project IDEA - Inclusive Arts ✕ Tech Workshop for Students】
The second year of the three-year Jockey Club Project IDEA (Inclusive Digital & Experimental Arts), organised by the City University of Hong Kong, has commenced with a series of workshops conducted in 11 secondary schools. These workshops harness the power of art and technology and are not just about artistic expression but also about fostering social inclusion among the young generation and the general public.
Sharing sessions led by ADAHK’s artist with disability, Apple Tong, coupled with the learning of Hong Kong Sign Language, students and teachers can gain a deeper understanding of the lives of people with disabilities and art practices and eventually reflect on the role of Art Tech in promoting social inclusion. |
L'Oréal Hong Kong Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Week
ADAHK’s artist with disability, Jessica Chiu, was invited by L'Oréal Hong Kong to participate in L'Oréal Hong Kong’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Week on 17 April 2024 and led a sand painting experiential workshop. During the activity, she shared the message of inclusion and had artistic exchanges with the employees from L'Oréal Hong Kong.
Jessica Chiu shared her life story and how she embarked on her art journey. Afterwards, a 2-hour engaging sand painting experiential workshop began. Under her guidance, participants could express their thoughts through sand painting and enjoy the fun of expressing their creativity. The participants were deeply moved by Jessica’s story and the opportunity to create their own sand paintings, with many expressing how the experience had broadened their understanding of diversity and inclusion. |
ADAHK’s Artist with Disability Joined Hong Kong String Orchestra’s ‘All About Love’ Concert
ADAHK’s artist with disability, Chris Tang, was honoured to join forces with the Hong Kong String Orchestra in a grand ensemble performance. This harmonious event, held on 29 March at the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong City Hall, was a testament to the power of unity. On this day, Chris Tang and the professional musicians of the Hong Kong String Orchestra presented a string music composition titled ‘My Chinese Heart,’ a beautiful demonstration of the power and beauty of social inclusion.
