Artists with Disability Development Fund

The new edition of our ‘Artists with Disability Development Fund’ is now open for application! (Application Deadline until 28 April 2023)

Introduction

Established in 2013, the ‘Artists with Disability Development Fund’ is funded by Lee Hysan Foundation. It aims at financing and assisting outstanding Hong Kong persons with disabilities for local or overseas arts studies or specific development path in the arts. Applicants can apply for the Fund for the following purposes:

 

  • To take formal training in the arts field, 
  • To implement tailor made development plans, such as taking arts courses or persuing further education.


Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (“ADA”) will provide opportunities for grantees to engage in the followings during and upon completion of his/ her development plan:

 

  • To exchange with professional art practitioners, educators and mentors, to expand and excel their experience in the arts,
  • To contribute to the development of arts, promote social inclusion via cooperation between persons with disabilities and the public in educational and arts programmes.

 

Application

Completed application forms with the following documents must be submitted either by email (hollypang@adahk.org.hk) or by post* (Address: 4/F, Causeway Bay Community Centre, 7 Fook Yum Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong) before the closing date (28 April, 2023) :

 

a. Personal Statement and Creative Experience
b. Certificates of Artistic Assessments
c. Recordings of the applicant’s performance and artworks (including publicity materials and photos of previous activities, video or sound recording)
d. Budget of the plan
e. Two Reference Letters

*Remarks: Applications by post must be submitted to “Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong” in a sealed envelope, titled “Artists with Disability Development Scheme (Artists with Disability Development Fund)” to “Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong”. Applications submitted by post must be postmarked by the deadline. If there are any special circumstances that the application form or related information need to be submitted in person, please contact Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong to make an appointment.

 

Arrangements on Individual Consultation

If you have any questions in regards to the application guidelines and application form for applying “Artists with Disability Development Fund”, please feel free to contact our staff during office hour.

 

In addition, if you have any questions on the content of the proposal planning, an individual consultation will be provided to all applicants who are interested to apply the programme. Each applicant will be able to conduct a one-on-one individual consultation in the form of online meeting or phone conversation within a specified time with no more than 15 minutes.

 

For applicants who wish to conduct the consultation, please complete the online form on or before March 6, 2023.
