Artists with Disability Development Fund

‘Artists with Disability Development Fund’ (2022 Application ended)

Introduction

Established in 2013, the ‘Artists with Disability Development Fund’ is funded by Lee Hysan Foundation. It aims at financing and assisting outstanding Hong Kong persons with disabilities for local or overseas arts studies or specific development path in the arts. Applicants can apply for the Fund for the followings purposes:

 

  • To take formal training in the arts field, 
  • To implement tailor made development plans, such as taking arts courses or perusing further education.


Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong (“ADA”) will provide opportunities for grantees to engage in the followings during and upon completion of his/ her development plan:

 

  • To exchange with professional art practitioners, educators and mentors, to expand and excel their experience in the arts,
  • To contribute to the development of arts, promote social inclusion via cooperation between persons with disabilities and the public in educational and arts programmes.

 

Application

Completed application forms must be returned to ADA's main office with the following documents by post* before the closing date (28 Feb, 2022). (Address: 4/F, Causeway Bay Community Centre, 7 Fook Yum Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong):

 

a. Personal Statement and Creative Experience
b. Certificates of Artistic Assessments
c. Recordings of the applicant’s performance and artworks (including publicity materials and photos of previous activities, video or sound recording)
d. Budget of the plan
e. Two Reference Letters

*Remarks: Due to the current circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus infection, application must be submitted in a sealed envelope, titled “Artists with Disability Development Scheme (Artists with Disability Development Fund)”, by post to “Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong”. Application submitted by post must be postmarked by the deadline. If there are any special circumstances that the application form or related information need to be submitted in person, please contact Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong to make an appointment.

 

Arrangements on Individual Consultation

Due to the current circumstances surrounding the novel coronavirus infection, there will be no briefing session this year. If you have any questions in regards to the application guidelines and application form for applying “Artists with Disability Development Fund”, please feel free to contact our staff during office hour.

 

In addition, if you have any questions on the content of the proposal planning, an individual consultation will be provided to all applicants who are interested to apply the programme. Each applicant will be able to conduct a one-on-one individual consultation in the form of online meeting, WhatsApp message or phonecall meeting within a specified time with no more than 15 minutes.
